Taxation is used to control demand and prevent inflation by removing excess liquidity from the economy.

Or at least that is what it should be used for.

Tax also creates non-inflationary space to facilitate transfers such as benefits and welfare.CharlesJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09247195788346236071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904444755487592846.post-69511390283175767032013-02-17T09:23:59.741+02:002013-02-17T09:23:59.741+02:00Indeed, taxes on wages and salaries also go to gov...Indeed, taxes on wages and salaries also go to government. The counter-argument goes that those taxes are spent on the workers themselves, or people who the workers should be supporting. This does have some merit, but I agree that the graphs would make more sense if the proportion of wages and salaries actually showed the net salaries, not the gross number which is pretty irrelevant.

However, the graphs are directly from official data, which is not available with taxes shown. I guess we know why.pjthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10222012841171277081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4904444755487592846.post-17858877065229391392013-02-17T01:45:45.751+02:002013-02-17T01:45:45.751+02:00You need to adjust graphs for taxes on wages and s...You need to adjust graphs for taxes on wages and salaries.

This also goes to governmentAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
